Thank you for taking the time to visit our Superintendent page. I would like to introduce myself, Mark Barton, as the Golf Course Superintendent of Coyote Ridge Golf Club. After seeing operations and the daily effort put forth by the maintenance crew and all staff to make Coyote Ridge one of the best golf experiences in DFW. I have been impressed and motivated to continue to bring you the high standards and traditions, as well as gaining new accolades for Coyote Ridge Golf Club.
With each passing day I’m gaining valuable experience and knowledge of Coyote Ridge G.C. I’m very excited to say that the golf course is in excellent shape and continues to improve each and every day with the hard work and determination put forth by the maintenance staff. Our staff has been diligently working on the course this winter/spring which has the golf course looking very sharp and ready for the upcoming growing season. I’m very proud to say that our greens are doing great for this time of year. Overall, the golf course is in the great shape and the conditions are very playable, fair, and challenging for any golfer. If you haven’t played our course recently you should come play and experience golf at its finest.
The maintenance staff has very many projects and goals set forth to be completed this year. We recently applied chemicals to the course to kill the existing weeds and to prevent other weeds from showing their face during the growing season. Our staff will also make a second application of chemicals to the course targeting hard to kill grassy weeds. I please ask for your patience during these applications b/c they will only improve the golf course for the upcoming season. Just recently we started aerifying the golf course wall to wall in an attempt to relive a serious compaction problem. Our plan is to core aerify the tee boxes and to run a slicer throughout the rest of the course. This process will allow air, water, and nutrients to flow into the root zone which in return will improve overall plant health and playability from tee to green.
I am very glad to say that everything is starting to fall into place at the right time at Coyote Ridge. I ask for all golfers to please help take care of the golf course and please use the 90 Degree Rule, unless we are Cart Path Only, and please fix all ball marks on the greens.
I look forward to seeing everyone out on the course soon and please feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns at: firstname.lastname@example.org
