Welcome and thank you for taking the time to visit my Superintendent page. Once again we are very proud to be recognized as one of the Top Daily Public Fee Courses in the Metroplex, voted by Avid Golfer Magazine in their Best of Public Issue. We were also awarded Top 5 Luxury Golf Club, Best Clubhouse, Best Dining Facility, and Best Cart Girls. We are also extremely proud to announce that our fellow co-worker Brooke Martin was voted Cart Girl of the Year by Avid Golfer Magazine. We congratulate her for this honor and award and we are so happy that she is part of the Coyote Ridge Family. We are also proud to announce that we have just brought in brand new Yamaha golf carts which provide an even better golf experience as well as GPS on all carts.
Spring is appears to finally be here and we are looking forward to getting started for a new growing season. We have been receiving rave reviews on course conditions and our greens. Greens are our #1 focus and this year we are very excited with our detailed maintenance strategy involving cultural practices and sound fertility management which will provide the best for our patrons. We will be verti-cutting, top-dressing, small tine thatch reduction aerification, rolling, and walk mowing greens throughout the season. This will ensure that the greens are firm, fast, and consistent. All maintenance items on the greens are done for minimal disruption and planned so that the greens are always perfect. We have already verti-cut the greens each week in April and the ball roll is phenomenal and putts are rolling out perfect.
As we move into our season, we continually re-invest capitol into the golf course along with focusing on the many detail items to make the playing experience for you exceptional. We painted all ball washers, installed new shoe cleaners and new tee towels. We also put out new cups and flagsticks on the greens and they look great. The little things are what set us apart from all the other golf courses and we focus on these items daily. We installed 232 new Cedar trees throughout the course to provide a better aesthetic value to the course as well as some strategically placed trees for some added playability challenges. We continue to install rock work along cart paths in areas worn out from cart traffic to ensure that we have 100% turf on the entire course. This adds an aesthetic value as well that most other courses do not address.
We are looking forward to a great month and some nice weather at Coyote Ridge. I hope to see you out on the course. As always, please feel free to e-mail me at: krisw@coyoteridgegolfclub.com
